Community Farm At Mill Ridge
Located in Southeast Nashville at Metro Nashville's newest regional park, the Community Farm at Mill Ridge is The Nashville Food Project’s largest garden site. During a year-long community listening phase of park development, park neighbors expressed strong interest in dedicating space for a community garden. As a direct result of this community listening, we steward three acres of the park for urban agriculture, including options for individuals interested in personal growing space and a community garden where staff and volunteers grow food collaboratively.
Individual Plots
Individual plot holders plant, tend and harvest vegetables for their own use. Additionally, participants are invited to monthly garden community events and workshops where we learn new skills, share meals, and celebrate together throughout the growing season.
Individual plot sizes range from 60-500 square feet.
Annual fees are $10-$35 based on plot size.
We provide:
Land with healthy soil to grow on
Water
Seeds and plants available for purchase
Monthly training opportunities and staff support
Full Circle Community Garden
Full Circle Community Garden offers weekly volunteer opportunities to grow food collaboratively and share the abundance. Gardeners work alongside staff and other gardeners to plant, care for and harvest vegetables.
Many gardeners volunteer about six hours a month, although no minimum time commitment is required. Participation is flexible.
Starting in April, gardeners can take home a share of the harvest each week.
Participants are invited to monthly community events and workshops where we learn skills, share meals, and celebrate together throughout the growing season.
Typical vegetables grown include tomatoes, peppers, salad greens, cooking greens, sweet potatoes and melons. Whatever is not shared at the end of the workday is shared with other farm community members and partner agencies.
