Not too long ago, Nashville felt like a smaller place, and everybody seemed to know everybody else in their neighborhood. Now, many of us aren't as familiar with our neighbors, and only speak to them in passing.
Good Neighbor Day was created to acknowledge and celebrate the importance of being a good neighbor. It's a blessing to have a good neighbor, but it's even a greater thing to BE a good neighbor. Good neighbors often become friends. They watch out for each other, lend a helping hand, and are there for advice when asked. Good neighbors offer that cup of sugar when we are short, collect our mail when we are on vacation, watch our homes and sometimes watch our children and our pets. Simply put, being a good neighbor makes good neighbors and develops lifelong friendships.
This year will be the sixth annual Good Neighbor Day Festival (formerly the Nashville Neighborhoods Celebration). Each year, the festival moves around the city. This year, we will be in the park at the Southeast Community Center in Antioch. We hope you will join us for this great day.
This event is free to the community.
