Julia Baynor grew up bouncing around the country in a military family until coming to Nashville in 2004. She pursued her education in entertainment industry studies and journalism at Belmont University with intentions of becoming an entertainment writer, but her love of food and passion for social justice put her on a different path. After several years working at a locally-owned restaurant, Julia came to The Nashville Food Project with a desire to use educating the community about food access to reconnect with the rapidly changing city she considers her home. When she’s not leading preps in the California Avenue kitchen, Julia enjoys spending her time reading and writing, finding new ways to cook vegetables, and spending time with her boyfriend and their cat, Marzipan.
