Food as a Lens: A panel exploring the complexities of food injustice

  • The Nashville Food Project 5904 California Ave Nashville United States (map)

REGISTRATION IS CLOSED! If you weren’t able to snag a spot, we invite you to grab your popcorn and turn in on Facebook Live where we will be broadcasting the panel portion of the evening!

On January 23rd from 6-8:30 PM, we are gathering a panel of folks to help individuals interested in alleviating hunger begin to understand the complexities of food injustice, access struggles and the implications for people who have traditionally been marginalized. We tell our volunteers and supporters “all the food in the world can’t solve hunger” and we invite you to join us as we begin to truly explore how (as Nicole Caruth says) “food is a lens through which we can examine the deeper truths about power and privilege.”

Panel Guests include...

Signe Anderson of Tennessee Justice Center (Nutrition Director)

Rev. Lindsey Krinks of Open Table Nashville (Co-Founder, and Interim Co-Director)

Ashford Hughes Sr. previously with the Mayor's Office (Chief Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer)

Sharie Loik Goodman of FiftyForward Fresh/Meals on Wheels (Director)

and others!
